Can you account for your whereabouts on the 13th July 1985?
I'm sitting in my lounge reviewing the footage from that day.

A number of other questions raise themselves. Hopefully someone on here can help.

Up to my nuts in a willing sort I would imagine. It's where I spent most of the 80's.

I certainly don't recall giving much of a fuck about Africa.

The Smiths, Echo and the Bunnymen, Big Country and Cilla Black. Pretty much NONE of the greats. Don't blame you for not going, sausage. Did you cut yourself in protest?

Sitting at home moaning that The Smiths, Echo & The Bunnymen and Big Country weren't at Live Aid, which is the reason I didn't go.

As for the OP?

Watched it on telly, mostly on 14th July due to being half-day ahead. At (then) home in Pacific Bay Rd nr Tutukaka, Northland. Saw quite a lot of it but only stand-out that I recall was Bowie doing Heroes. Wasn't a fan of Bowie but mightily impressed that day.

Ah Skipton. Nice market town: I discovered it when on a trip home and stayed at Hart's Head in Giggleswick (how could I not with a name like that?). Try to visit area whenever I get back. Since stayed a couple of times at the Woolly Sheep and The Unicorn.

Ah. That was the day my first barrel of dope-laced stout was ready to drink, so, naturally, a few friends came around to sample it.

Of course, THEY didn't know it was dope-laced: I was the master brewer, my lodger took care of the home-grown. All that was expected was some beer to go with the joints & scones and nobody could work out why the giggles descended out of nowhere so early in the afternoon.

By the time the recipe was revealed, everybody was too stoned to give a fuck. So they didn't.

We camping and canoeing early that month, not sure if we had come back yet or not.

If we had then running through wheat and canola fields inventing things to do with childhood abandon.
